Champagne Veuve Clicquot

Champagne Veuve Clicquot

The house was founded at the end of the 18th century, in 1772. With the premature disappearance of her husband, Barbe Clicquot Ponsardin takes over the management of the company and develops it with passion. Known as the “Grande Dame de la Champagne”, Madame Clicquot improves the techniques of champagne making. In particular,  she invented the “tables de remuage” (riddling tables) to clarify champagne, which soon became the riddling desks, and innovated the very first blend of rosé champagne.
